Super Diamond is a San Francisco-based tribute band for the legendary Neil Diamond. It was formed 10 years ago as a side act, it is headed by Randy Cordeiro, better known as Surreal Neil. Cordeiro is a 38-year-old singer-songwriter whose voice has an uncanny resemblance to that of Mr. Neil Diamond. "The Surreal Neil," Randy Cordeiro has astonished audiences with his live impersonations of the real Neil. Randy. He discovered his talent in 1989 when he discovered he had the ability to capture not only Diamond's voice, but also his mannerisms and performance style. Along with Cordeiro a select group of top stunt musicians bring to life the Neil Diamond concert experience. For tribute bands like Super Diamond, there is no radio time or royalties from album sales, so they rely completely on touring to earn a living. Super Diamond plays about 120 shows a year around the country — from nightclub concerts to corporate parties and weddings.
